The Flying Fields Of Quebec are in Danger!!

Please take a read of this thread on RCCanada regarding the situation with the "La Commission pour la protection des Terres Agricoles du Qu?bec" (CEPETQ) currently affecting Brossair and other clubs in the province

Yes, and there are many private constributions that are 1/2 or 1/4 of what WIMAC is planning to contribute as a whole. I think we should review our proposed contribution.

WIMAC is contributing a minimum of $200.00, agreed by the majority of the Directors who responded, which is ultimately funded by the members obviously, but if members feel it is not enough, they are all very much welcome to contribute what they see fit.

Send your donation cheques, made payable to MAAC, to the following address:

Model Aeronautics Association of Canada
Unit 9, 5100
South Service Road
Burlington, ON L7L 6A5
Tel: (905) 632-9808
Fax: (905) 632-3304
maachq@on.aibn.com

Addressed with cover letter stating "FLYING FIELD PROTECTION FUND" to be sure it ends up contributing to the right cause.

I am of the same opinion. Maybe we can split the difference: improve the donation from WIMAC and also raise contributions from our members to send to MAAC. Perhaps the contributions from our members should be of a fixed amount. For instance: $500 from WIMAC and $10 from each member. This way we do not deplete WIMAC funds and also impress on our members the need to continue this fight until we succeed.
A disgruntled club member who denounced Brossair and a bunch of bureaucrats with nothing better to do than run around in circles cannot succeed.
Can we make a poll about contributions?

MAAC has already setup a fund specific to this cause for individuals to contribute. The details of which are listed as Greg has done above, for additional information: http://www.maac.ca/view_news.php?itm=234 This link is the news item on the MAAC site that directs how MAAC members can contribute. The address to the MAAC office is on the MAAC homepage.

Don't forget that any money sent through paypal will be charged a percentage to paypal.

We are a Club for the better and the worst, the worst is at our door so let's do it now as a Club.
I agree that each club should do there best at staying alive and keeping out of "Trouble", it is the single best way to do so.
But the situation of our friends is also important to us because we are all in the same association and we are all prone to being the next target of such an organisations as the CPTAQ,the MDDEP and others...

That is why, as an association, we should hold together and find a way to get accepted and be reconised. For this we now have a committee in our zone that is working out a strategy to keep the affected fields open but also looking at the best way to not have this type of event happen again.

This committee will surely give us the action line to take in order to achieve our goal at being reconised and being left alone. I'm not saying to sit on you'r ass and wait till they (the committee) find a solution, I'm just saying that we should combine our forces on one fight instead of putting up multiple individual fights. There is alot of legal matters at stake here and I for one am not able to navigate in that world, so I prefer letting the knowledgeable do so for me, for us and follow there plan. I know every good ideal will be considered in this matter so feel free to contact our zone directors to share your thoughts. The RCC forum also seems to be a good place to speak you mind.

I don't want to take credit for this whole post because my reflexion here is a condensed resume of the RCC thread and what comes out of it ( in my opinion)
RCC - Is our Provincial government helping out R/C!!!!
