I have been trying to thin out my fleet of planes to make space for a winter project.
Difficult choices.....
Electric? Glow? Gas?
Sport? Aerobatic? Warbird?

Auuuuugh! Help me choose. I already have a large glow Edge 540, a large glow Stearman biplane, a not yet flown glow Yak 54 and some assorted small planes not worth mentioning....

What do you think? And why?

The answer is easy, fly, fly, fly them all. Try all those manoeuvres you have seen on you-tube. Play the probability you will crash one so well the choice will be made. Hehe.

You seem to like your small electric patern plane ... why not a bigger one?

Mike, it is among my plans for next year :D
Not big, 26cc well, ok ok, maybe 30cc

Albert, it is even easier, get one bigger electric and one gas.... winter is long and you are a good builder!

No RC pilot is complete without a romantic and graceful Piper Cub!

A delight to fly once off the ground.
Unforgiving at walking speed...

Can be flown in almost any wind if you know what you are doing.
Can be landed going backward.

Best rudder teaching plane EVER (choose a scale_no dihedral version)
The best looking side slipping AC.

Fly it scale and have a blast.
Get adventurous and fly it IMAC sportsman (A fellow once nearly humbled us with one)

need I say more :-)

Good advise Alix,

I really enjoyed my G.P. Cub with the 91fs, plus you can add flaots and it's a bute to see take off and land(euhhhh water....amerrissage). Get the 1/4 scale with a Zenoah 26cc.

Kevin
p.s. don't forget to put a pilot that his head turns with the rudder...remember?

Yes a Cub, espicially on floats. Skis, then wheels.

..the best of this thread so far is that Alix is showing signs of life.
There were tales that he electrocuted himself flying his electric heli too close to himself...
Then there were rumors that he enjoyed so much the "thermals" in Mexico that he needed a real rest.

Others were saying that he was seen flying paper planes at IMAC competitions.

Other rumors implied that he bought the latest 2.4 GHZ radio and there were so many switches he couldn't find the power on one.

I never believed that....

Show up, Alix!

I could never understand the Piper mystique... and atraction.

Bitch to take off, bitch to land... we are not in this hobyy for the bitches!

It is my firm belief that everyone should have an Edge!

Keep them coming...

LMAO :D

I think when I get myself organized and back to the field it will be with a gasser, no more messy glow for me

I like Dwight's suggestion of a pattern plane, electrified...

All the rumors are somehow exact...

I showed up twice and you were not there :-(

What about an Aeronca Champ like David's or Andrew's? The slight dihedral and stubier wings take the bitchiness out.

With a nice distinctive Argentinian color scheme mmmmhhh....

If you like your little pattern plane Albert, this one should be interesting. It should be great on 4S. If you go with stuff from hobbycity, it should be cheap to build. It's not a park flyer.

I am in this hobby for the crashes, that is the fun part of it... :o
cause you get another plane!

Dwight Macdonald

Better not to focus on crashes ... they are almost always avoidable ... as with any activity, safety is important and achievable.
