Visit the aviation museum in Gander, Newfoundland to see the backup model, identical to the one he used, I know I posted a picture about three years ago when I went there. What was interesting to me was that this model was not some high tech marvel of engineering with space age materials and design but a very ordinary looking sport plane, not much different from most of the models you would see any day at any RC club. Here's the photo I took there.
