That's going to be very powerful! What's the weight of that plane?

So I guess you fixed the engine, what did you have to change?

Thanks guys. Eladio nice plane, they will look good flying in formation.
Kevin the box says 13.5-14lb with a nitro engine, I'll be happy if I can keep it to 16lb, that will be 2lb lighter than the cap was.
For the engine I had to buy a carburetor ,push rods and covers for the front right cylinder and the two front exhaust pipes, for about 150$.
Michael I will show the build, but will only be starting the first week of april, the bedroom I build in has to be renovated first.

Renovation's done,:) now time to play. :D:D:D
I started with the engine repairs, and then the ironing.
There where a lot of complaints about wrinkles in the forum, but every thing looks good.

Hinged the ailerons. The reports on the tail wheel where not good so I checked in side the fuse and  a 1/2" block of soft balsa. I removed the balsa and added 1/4" aircraft ply, should be good now. This arf has been on the market for 9 years now, and still no changes amazing.
Can someone tell me how to turn a picture when I upload it, it's up right in my computer but turns side ways when I upload it, thanks.

Depends on the program you are dying to view photos.
Normal you can rotate it and save it.
Check under the view menu.

Your dog is bigger than mine!:D

Nice big engine but you're going to have to butcher that cowl:(

Yes almost in two, any tips on cutting cowls.

Kevin Rochon
2014-04-20, 07:53 PM
Yes cut it in 2, top and bottom. Make the relief for the cylinders, on the top part. Then glue a lip on the inside bottom piece and you can screw it the top part when installing it.

Hope it's clear enough.

Thanks guys. I'm very happy with the way the cowl turned out and the overall look of the plane. Now it's time to start on the inside. I'm going to run two lipo's for the receiver but I'm not sure what mah to use. Michel what are you using in your edge and how many flights are you getting?

I'm using A123 2500mah for the servo and 1300mah for the ignition on the edge. On my Extra I was using a 2s2200mah lipo for the servo and a 3s1300mah lipo for the ignition, after an afternoon of flying (4-5 flights) the voltage was around 4v/cell, don't remember the mah on the re-charge.

Ok if I understand right then 2 1300mah on a power box should be good then.
That should give me 2600mah total.

I did a preliminary balance to see where every thing has to go. The tail of this plane is very light so thing are going way back I'll have to make two hatches. Fuel lines and glo plug lines are done I had to extend the glo lines by almost two feet. Here are some more pic's.

More than a light tail I think you have a cement block in the nose...
