Great picture, and I love the bit about "some shaping and filing was necessary to get the scale look". I bet there was!

Yes there was a lot of sanding a shaping, but actually, the worst part was the front end of the fuselage, there was a lot more work than I expected at first. As mentioned in the caption it was fashioned out of one of the nacelles of a Blitzwork SR-71. I has a spare back end for a SR-71 sent to me as a replacement for a damaged unit in the original order and did not know what to do with it but did not want to throw it away. It would have been easier to make the front end out of Depron or Dollarama foamboard, as it was basically a straight tube. The rest of the plane was not really difficult to build.
