"Gr***na says he can't understand how a piece of plastic that weighs less than 2 kg can be a threat to anyone."

"Even if I wanted to, I couldn't hurt anyone with it," he said

An object that weighs 2kg falling from a height of just 50 meters has an impact speed of 112 km/h, I think that would hurt! lol

The sales of such items should be regulated before
fines are given out.

If transport Canada rules is to don't fly closer than 500ft from a building, What is the Maac flying distance on the same rule...is it a 1000ft:o

The reason he got fined, is because he is running a business without a Transport Canada permit. The rules are stricter and TC (for security reason) does not want any inexperience Jo to start a drone business in any area possible. And I know for a fact that they will go down on the owners. I also understand his point of view, that, he has to ask for a permit for each contract he gets and that it can take very long before he gets it and he will loose his customer. But this is new for TC and they are running behind. But because of a few drone incidents with airplanes due to human stupidity, I expect the rules even for hobby flying to become more stiff.

I have no problem with regulations of any sort, as long as, if applied retrospectively, you give the "guilty" party some time to adhere to them.

My neighbor told me about a drone flying above her back yard last week, she though it was me.
People under estimate the danger and privacy violations a flying camera can cause, it's like getting on your step ladder with a video camera to film what your neighbor is doing.
