Hi,
I am in Poland this week for the WC and the airplanes and pilot skills have gone up again since the last WC 2 years ago. The Canadian team has improved a lot but everyone else too ;-)
Only mylar covered airplanes with frame made of depron, carbon or balsa.
3-4 airplanes only without contra motor.
Many airplanes under 60g.
The planes fly so slow !!!

It's a variable pitch prop, similar to a heli you can change the pitch of your prop positive or negative with an extra servo. Just Google 4d flying and you will see a lot of different videos even larger outdoor planes.

Indoor is getting out of control! You can get a great, big gas plane for that kind of moola :hmm:

tempting but 1-big bucks that I really shouldn't spend and 2-I have a feeling that it just won't behave quite like that with me at the controls.

Very impressive aircraft and pilots! How many years before aircraft that fly like that come at a reasonable price and durability? ...

For sure it's a lot money but this is one of the best indoor plane you could get. It is also very strong and it will stay in good shape and trimmed for a long time. Thousands of flights probably. The light weight helps to lower the energy in a crash also.
If you compare to a top of line Imac or pattern plane, you'll see that it's actually very cheap :-)

I am home now and I have finalized the albums here: https://plus.google.com/photos/115926138259435254243/albums?banner=pwa
There is one album for each of the 6 museums I visited,
One album with pictures taken during the 6 airplane flights of the 3 weeks : Montréal – London – Warsaw – London – Toulouse – London – Montréal.
The other albums are for each day at the world championship of F3P indoor aerobatics in Poland.

The airplanes at the WC were all very light. The heaviest one was at 103g (3.5oz) I believe. It allow keeping the speed down and give time for the pilot to perform the maneuvers. Without going that far, an indoor airplane at 4oz is relatively easy to do these days for less than 200$. My Clik NG is a good example.

Really nice pictures Xavier, nice to see all those old planes and the history that lead us to what we have now. Also nice to see a Harvard/Texan in the Polish museum.
