Hi all,
Here's a couple of pictures of a battery charging bunker I built in the garage to charge and discharge batteries. I used one sheet of 3'x5' Hardiebacker 1/4" cement board and 6 thin cinder blocks. The cement board was about $19 at Home Depot and the cinder blocks were $1.79 each. I added a smoke alarm on the underside of the cover, and keep a fire extinguisher and a bag of sand next to the installation. I put the 4 port charger inside, hook up the batteries and let 'er rip. If a battery goes bad, the smoke at least stays in the garage and the fire is contained by the cinder blocks and cement board, at least until I get there with the sand. Seems to be a good setup so far, hope this info is helpful. Stay safe.

I admire seeing setups with safety mechanisms engineered into it. Good job Doug!

Great setup Doug.

I have used a large spare terra cotta plant pot with a sand bag perched on the top - sand added automatically in the event of fire! I like your smoke alarm addition.

Thanks Ian. I got most of the idea for this from the Flight Test guys on YouTube.
