I am truly sorry to hear the news. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
For those who did not know Captain Stan, he was a retired airline pilot who was a master builder of model airplanes. Seeing his beautiful airplanes in and on on his well-used car, I am convinced that the models were considerably more valuable than the automobile. He was a man who loved a good argument and always enjoyed wading into controversy. I think he often took contrary positions just for the joy of the discussion. Those of us who have been using the club website for a few years will remember how he would post aeronautic questions just to stimulate contentious debate.
Clear skies and happy flights.

I'm really sadden by this news. I went flying with him just last autumn at Ile-Perrot. We had a good time and then we whent to his favarite restaurant Fulam. There was never a dull moment with Stan, he always had interresting stories to tell about his life in the aviation industries. He even made a little party at his place and we were entertained by some very nice slides from all his trips around the world with all kinds of aircrafts.

He was writing an autobiography, hopefully we'll be able to have acces to that?

My sincere condolences to his family & friends.

Kevin

Sincere condolences to his family.

He once told me that he would trade gladly some years of retirement for one year of flying.

Yes, very sad news. I know he was flying the day before yesterday with Dick Murray at Ille Perrot. So he did what he loved to the last minute. He had a massive heart attack and did not even make it to the hospital. Stan had a lot of great stories, and for me was him owning No. 1 Ford Mustang, which is now in a Ford Museum. Ford even had him go to different cities with his Mustang, he had showed us the pictures him all dressed in his Captain ailrline suit and the Mustang no. One next to him.
He flew almost every day, his Stick.

Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to get to know him but he did leave me with the impression of being a lively story book.

I found several website articles regarding his Ford Mustang, and added them to Albert's first message in this thread for those interested in reading more about his history.

This is a sad morning piece of news.

I knew Stan very little but I think he was a good man where seriousness and fun met.

I present all my sincere condolences and compassion to his friends and family.
